Paste Attributes no longer works

Paste Attributes no longer works was created by Redifer
I'm working on a project which relies on the paste attributes function, but it has ceased to work. It works fine in other projects and events. I recently pasted a compressor for the audio as well as background noise removal to both video with sound clips and standalone audio clips that were detached from the video. Now when I highlight a clip and Command + C it and select a different clip and go to EDIT > PASTE ATTRIBUTES, the attribute window never comes up. Really, really annoying. Anyone encounter this before?

Is this only happening on one or more particular clips in this Project, or any time you want to paste attributes in this Project?
Have you tried pasting attributes in a different Project since the issue occurred, and did it work?

It seems to be restricted to the clip(s). Pasting attributes in other projects works fine. Copying and pasting attributes between other clips within this same project also works fine. But there are a bunch of them kind of in the middle of the timeline that don't like being messed with and I can't quite figure out what's special about them. Pasting attributes worked fine on these very same clips before. Restarting FCPX didn't make a difference, either.

Are you running any fxplugins? Like CoreMelt lock and load or slice x?

I have some FX Factory plug-ins installed but I'm not using them on the affected clips. I have a compressor for the audio, background noise reduction (not a filter, obviously), key, color correction (again, not a particular filter) and that's it. I noticed this issue occurred after I paste-attributed the background noise reduction to a bunch of clips, some with video and sound and others sound-only.

Interesting. Have you tried refreshing your FCPX preferences?
If this does not help: are the affected clips in any way different from the other clips? Different format or so ?

I was working on a large project a year ago, literally the day when 10.0.6 was released and I encountered this on a large project. It was a big drag.
I was also using core melt lock and load on many clips and I was attributing the problem to it, as well as 10.0.6. I reported this to Apple as well as CoreMelt right away and after that one project I haven't seen it since then.
However now that you mention it there was heavy use of audio filters and noise reduction. So maybe the bug is still there.
One shot in the dark. Are you using multiple monitors?

I just saw you were using 10.6.8. Are you in a macpro 2006 by any chance? It might be the OS or that machine. Do you have any machines with 10.8.5? If not perhaps you can see if you can create a small project that you could shoot over and I could test it.
