Are you aware that you are using 1333 Mhz ram, and NOT 1600 Mhz ram which is default on the new iMac late 2013?. I suspect you are reusing ram from an older Mac.

My own iMac late 2013 with 512 Gb flash only drive benchmarks around 700 Megabyte pr second on both read and write.

How are you able to run the disk speed test on your boot drive? When I try to do that the speed test says I can't do it because the disk is "read only".

Right Click on your HDD on your desktop. Select "get Info". On the very bottom of the window where it says "Sharing & Permissions" make sure the system tab has "Read & Write" under the privilege. If not click on the little pad lock on the bottom right had corner to unlock it. Then change your system privilege to "Read & Write". Then try your speed test again.

Interesting, is there a reason that this should be set to read only?

Wow, my SSD is not nearly as fast as it should be. It's like 140MB write and about 320MB read. Still much faster than the stock iMac drive which is 60 write, 80 read. But still, this SSD tested at read and write around 360MBps when I tested it through an external thunderbolt before I installed it in my iMac.

Well it is much faster when I switch from 5GB of stress to 1GB of stress, so I guess that has something to do with it.

Love to see fast drives, but I hope you aren't editing on your internal drive. That's always a big no no.
