Hi! I'm new in this forum. My name is Mikke and I live in Sweden. Have been using LogicPro all my life ( seems like ) and now starting to use FCPX.
He's my scenario and question:
My brother is an operasinger and I recorded his perormance this summer. I used 4 still ( not moving ) cameras so I have 4 different camerashoots and I have been able to put a movie together with nice result. I have cropped some parts to get closer and the result is ok. BUT I would like to be able to pan the cropped picture from ( lets say ) right side of the stage to the left side of the stage and hereby following the actor in center. at the moment I have simply cut the move and jumped between 2 angles. When the actor goes out of picture on the left side I have cut and made a new cropped angle and the actor comes in from the right side in the new angle. Can this be done with a smooth pan isntead? / Mikke

I posted same question in the Appplesupportforum and heres the answer:

"Use the Ken Burns effect in the 'crop' tool…

Same situation here: recording with 5 'fix' cameras, using KB to add pans and zooms.

For sure, the so-called re-framing drops the resolution.

My 'trick' is: I'm recording in 1080, but project is set to 720 - so, a 150%-zoom is 'lossless'…- "

/ I regard the question as answered and done.

OHHH AND BTW yes it is my cat Peppi who sits infront of my computer ( my avatar ) :) / Mikke
