EXPORTING AND SOMETHING WENT WRONG

EXPORTING AND SOMETHING WENT WRONG was created by jodpod
Hello kind people of the forum world,
I've just tried exporting this film i've been working on for the past few hours. When I go to export - it seems to just export a short clip. You can see in the attached screen shot that it seems in my timeline only a small part is 'active' (don't know what the technical term is).
It's not exporting everything on the timeline - and then when i go back to my projects it seems the only thing that is saved is this short clip. I don't understand what has happened to the rest...
I can see that some of my timeline is 'shaded out' - i don't know how this has happened.
Any help would be mucho appreciated.
Or if I need to talk through my problem a little more - I can do.
Thanks,
damsel in distress.

Go to your timeline, select all clips (cmd-A) and copy them (cmd-C). Go to Project Library and make a new Project. Paste your clips (cmd-V) to that new Project timeline and Export (Share) from there.

"If" I am interpreting this properly, it may be a used Compound.
The shading normally happens when you're in a Compound Clip timeline, and that Compound Clip is being used in another timeline, and trimmed. The shaded part is the section trimmed out of the timeline the CC is sitting inside of. That shaded section won't export.
Find the parent Compound Clip in the Browser, double-click that to open it into it's original Timeline, see what that looks like.

Thank you - the copy and paste to new project worked well. The compound clip comment was a good explanation. Thanks to both.
