Any UltraStudio 4k Users?

I have a UltraStudio 4k from Blackmagic Design and wanted to first off try and get it working with FCPX for testing purposes.

I am on a 2Ghz Intel Core i7 with 4GB Ram
There are 2 graphics cards in it.

AMD Radeon HD 6490M
and
Intel HD Graphics 3000

I am attaching 2 screen shots of how I have set things up.

At the moment I am just trying to get anything to work and so I grabbed the Blackmagic test signals from the installation disc.

I have my laptop connected to the Blackmagic Device and get the bars on the UltraStudio 4k display. But not on my external monitor. I am using a pretty basic Eizo with a DVI input so have to get out of the back of the UltraStudio 4k with a HDMI to DVI adaptor. I have tested the cable with adaptor by connecting it to my phone which has a HDMI output and it works. So I am pretty sure that the cable is OK. I guess that I have set something wrong! Anybody any ideas?

Did you manage to get the UltraStudio 4K working properly in the end? I'm looking at buying 2 soon and am just doing my "homework" now so that I don't get any nasty surprises when working to a deadline.

Yes I got it working. It was largely down to my stupidity.
If I remember correctly the problem was that I was going from theUltraStudio 4k device as follows:

HDMI to DVI which I think should normally work.
But there was something not enabled/switched on miss match ?!?!?

The thing is that I should have been going HDMI to HDMI!
But my monitor did not have this.
I ended up getting a HD Link Pro as well and this did the trick.

It is all technically working perfectly but I have not really got around to using it much.

Guess that it is great for ingest. And what I am really curious about at some point is seeing if I can get the HD Link Pro to work with LUTs. Which I have been told by someone who usually knows what he is doing that this is very tricky indeed….

I have also been using the smart Scope duo with the UltraStudio 4k and I love them.

The UltraStudio 4k is really loud so if you want it for an edit suite get a long thunderbolt cable and put it as far away as possible. Preferably in a sound proof box/rack

Out of curiosity what are you planning to do with this device?

I'm planning on using it for Ingest and output of Finished shows for delivery to the broadcasters. Although tape is dying out and many broadcasters are planning to go for File Based Delivery from October, there are still many who will want delivery on a tape format. We also have around 25 years worth of archive material on tapes.

I already have quite a few pieces of BlackMagic kit - HyperDeck, Broadcast VideoHub, deck link cards, UltraScope. Always been happy with their products.

I would need the UltraStudio to work with no problems because the plan would be to disconnect the Avid system, replace with FCP and begin delivering programmes within a 6 week period. Oh, and to make things a little more interesting - the other editors need to learn how to use the software.
