Ref colour lines in event browser.. gone? was created by oceanlewis
New to group and to fcpX... maybe someone here can help me. I've google searched and Apple searched, but no answer. I'm sure its simple, but the coloured lines that indicate fav, rated and key word collections has simple disappeared from my ranges in the event browser. (?). What should I hit to activate these again?
thank-you.

What filtering do you have selected in the upper left and upper right of the browser?

Filter?; 'All Clips' .. and the search area is cleared. It all still functions as if it is marked.. for example, if I 'favourite' a range, it does still find that range when filtered for 'favourite'... it is just that no colour line shows up in the selected range of the clip. (?)
Thank-you for any insight.

This is a grab... also, there are several FinalCut.plist .. which to trash? and how safe is this action. (i could copy to a thumb drive for BU, but is it a simple action of copy/paste back to that same lib~pref folder, if it does not work?) Again, I was hoping I was missing a key command to see the colour lines active again (as I actually like the idea that they could be turned off too). Thank-you for your help. please advise.

Trash them all. This is completely safe. It resets the application. Do with the application closed. Used Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion. What OS version are you using?
Switch to list view and se if the clips have favorites there?
Also what happens if you select Show Favorites instead of all clips?

10.8.5. Yes, in 'list view' (and favourites), the favourites still come up proper, just again with no colour lines.
I will try PM from Digital Rebellion. Will let you know if this is the solution.
thank-you.

yes, problem solved! Thank-you very much.
While we are on the topic..it there a way to actually disable/enable the coloured lines from view if one wished?
Thank-you again for your help.
