FCPX not mounting disk image

This one has me really confused.

We have a sparse disk image stored on a raid. If we mount it from either of two computers over the network FCPX sees the events and projects and all is good.

However, if we mount it from the computer that hosts the raid, we can see all the files in finder but FCPX never sees either the events or the projects within that drive.

It's formatted to HFS+ and there are no errors on the volume (checked with disk utility). I would have thought that if two computers can mount it and have FCPX see the files there is no reason while this one can't.

I've even trashed preferences but it didn't help.

So, HELP! Any ideas? I wanted to use this machine for some long renders while we continued to work on other things.

FCPX can't see network volumes. That's the way it's made. It can see SAN locations but you have to first mount them. See support.apple.com/kb/PH12709?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Is it dyslexia when you get the meaning completely backwards. Sorry about that.
