so those who need this capability will be fine paying around $2000 for the new buff surface but as the one reviewer wrote he could already do a lot of this on the original surface and yet it failed in the marketplace.
maybe people sense the microsoft desperation and are immune to their decades old "faster, safer, more secure" mantra modified to "we're everything to everybody in the palm of your hand" tactic.
who wouldn't be leery of a company having to pay $100,000 for someone to write an app for their phone or $200 to beg someone to buy that phone or tablet?

I think that Microsoft, seeing little uptake of the Surface against the iPad in the consumer space, is trying desperately to sell the surface as "the Pro tablet". Blackberry tried this with their Playbook early last year stating, "Amateur Hour is Over".

Unfortunately, I think MS is setting themselves up for a fall. The way they're pitching the Surface, why wouldn't someone who wanted to do those things get a decent laptop instead? I think there's far too narrow a sliver of market between iPad and Laptop for the Surface to find any traction.

So you pay 2000 dollar for a tablet that can play a meager 1/4 resolution debayered R3D while a 1700 dollar MB Air easily handles twice that resolution with Scratch player and full resolution 4K with a Red card connected? Nice work, Microsoft. This will be a "killer" tablet

It think it may sound ridiculous at this stage, when Microsoft still holds so much of the raw marketshare in computing worldwide, but I think we're in the early stages of the downside of MS.

People said it could never happen to Blackberry and look where they are now? Probably months from being sold off for spare parts and patents.

Removing Microsoft from it's position of dominance won't be easy, and I don't think it's in Apple's interest to do it themselves- they don't want to have to cater to the bottom 1/3rd of the market, OR intense business solutions. But If Google were to come out with a viable free OS, things could change very quickly.

I don't want to burn up my 40's, but I'd love to see the picture 10 years from now. It's hard to believe where we are now compared to 10 years ago...
