Hi,

I've been playing around with Cinema4D and compositing tags to generate a Motion template for use in FCPX with dropzones with some partial success. From what I can tell, you can export Cinema4D camera data and use a surface as a placeholder/null object with a compositing tag then bring it into motion, replace the placeholder with a dropzone (with a bit of tweaking for scale/rotation) and export that as a generator. I've attached a rough example with a video placed in the drop zone in FCPX.

What you CAN'T seem to do (at least, the data seems to get skewed) is import the movement data from the 3D object itself, only the cameras. Obviously, it would be more flexible to animate the object in some instances.

I'm using it here for objects such as tablets, phones, etc. that I can easily drop different content onto in FCPX.

Has anyone else tried this and had better/different results with different workflows?
