Transition Preferences was created by Dave_EP

There used to be a preference that controlled how transitions were applied - either using existing media (which shortened the timeline) or new media (which didn't). It appears to have gone.

Has it moved somewhere new or just 'gone' ?

Is there any way to control this as a preference now ?

It's gone as a preference, though it's still sort of there. If you try to add a transition without enough media you get a warning that the project will be shortened. But as a pref to always shorten the project, that's not there any more.
