Strange behaviour of clips

Strange behaviour of clips was created by bbrunner
Hi all, I just migrated the Event & Project folders from one hard drive to another. I did so from within FCP X (10.0.9) following the proper procedures. Now when I open one of the events, some of clip don't display any thumbnails but this symbol - see attached file. When hovering over the clip the thumbnails do appear. It's very annoying. Any ideas how to solve it are welcome. Benny Brunner

The attached file in the original post didn't show up. I hope now it will.

Try trashing the thumbnail files and peak data for the event as well as the FCP prefs. And after you relaunch the app, wait a bit to give it a chance to rebuild thumbnails.

You mean thumbnail and peak data in the Event folder? FCP prefs in the Library > Preferences? I'm concerned that I'll lose all my settings if I trash the FCP prefs!

Get Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager and back up your prefs. There aren't that many in FCP.

Problem solved! I did back up FCP X prefs without trashing the originals. I just trashed thumbnail and peak data. Many thanks.
