Hi,

Since owning FCP 10 every time I open my computer FCP opens up automatically.

How do I stop this happening as I only want to open FCP when I require it.

Look in system preferences Users and see if it's been set as a log in item.

You can also right click on the dock icon and there is an option to "open at login". You can also assign it to a specific desktop which is really useful if you use multiple desktops for different programs.
