Remove effects from all clips? No way?
I searched and found no answer, but I'm having a hard time believing there's no way...

If you want to remove an effect that has been applied to multiple clips, group-select the clips in the Timeline. Then in the Inspector > Video tab select the effect and press the Delete (Backspace) key to delete the effect from all the selected clips.

Hi Ronny,
Thanks for responding, man. I didn't see it until today. I should have given more information in my original post. I've been using fcpx from day one and been coming here and reading all that time, so I did try the very good advice you gave straight away. The issue is that only works if all the clips have the same effects, but they do not in my case. I'd like to start over with all the clips no matter what effects were used on them. I googled the hell out of it and found no answer, so I went in and removed the effects for all ~150 clips, which was about as fun as it sounds.
So from now on I will use an adjustment layer and not touch the clips, but it'd be nice if I could have done it by selecting all and hitting a "remove effects" button or some such...

FCPX will only allow you to delete effects that are common to all the clips you have selected, which seems quite logical. But you are correct that a "remove all effects" button might be useful. Send feedback to Apple and who knows we might see this feature in a next update.

On a side note why cannot I select all clips and delete all Effects?? Or am I missing something? I am not talking about disabling, I am talking about removing.Deleting all effects from the timeline/clips at one go... I spent an hour going through clip by clip and deleting effects... :woohoo:
Thanks for any advice!!
Eric
When I select the whole time line with clips and try deleting effects, it only deletes from the first clip, all other selected clips still have the effect? Is this a Bug in 10.2.1? I tried it several times. I also saw someone else who say they selected a clip with no effects and pasted attributes to other clips and that would get rid of the effects in all clips, but for me it just does not work. I am trying to get rid of all effects on all clips... Thanks for any help..
