Well, I give up. Who can please post a link to where I can actually update to the 10.0.8 version because it ELUDES ME! I've tried the Apple store and everywhere else I can think of!
Another thing that eludes me is that the dvds I burn don't go to menu first when I load the disc. They play straight away. YES, I chose the "show menu" option as my preference before burning it but NO, it will not show menu first when I load the disc in my dvd player or computer, etc. Is this a glitch?? I've wasted several DVD's. Frustrating.

There's only one place to upgrade FCPX and that's in the MacAppStore on your computer.
But the current version is now 10.0.9, so if you upgrade, that's what you'll move to.

Thanks, mate. You just jogged my memory as to how I bought it in the first place. Forgot it was through the App Store.
Did you read my 2nd problem about burnt dvd's? Reckon this is a glitch?

Regarding your DVD question, the proper function of Show Menu works in 10.0.9. I don't recall if this may have been an issue with some previous versions since I generally select to Play Movie if I make DVD's.
Since the FCPX DVD creation function is only a single pass encode before it burns, You may want to create a master file first, then use Compressor's create disc function. There you can optimize the DVD encode with multi-pass options and bit rate settings, etc. You'll still have the option to select Show Menu or Play Movie, so maybe it will function correctly thru Compressor if it is indeed an issue with 10.0.8 or earlier.
If you choose to upgrade FCPX, then it should work straight away. If you still have problems, try trashing FCPX preferences. (You might try that even if you don't upgrade immediately).
