Importing with smart collections

Importing with smart collections was created by Rbelfi
I have all my media in subfolders under a general folder for the job. When trying to select each sub folder the check for smart collections was greyed out. Out was clickable when selecting the main folder holding all the sub folders. I tried importing like that but only the 1st folder stayed in its smart collection. The only reason I can see to fix this would be to delete the main folder and keep all the other folders separate. Before I delete everything and start over does anyone have an advice? Thanks.

You have one main folder, containing many sub-folder of stuff. You're not making a Smart Collection, as that is something based on physical characteristics.
Select the top folder, and in the Import window (and you may be doing this, and using the wrong terminology), select "Import Folders as Keyword Collections".
That gives you a keyword collection for each folder name, with it's contents in that collection.
Perhaps this is what you're already doing? If so, I'd be very surprised if it doesn't work. Not something I've seen not work before.

I may not of explained it correctly, but I followed the same steps you explained and did not get any smart collections besides a "Camera 1A" which was the first folder. None of the rest of my folders were created. I'm not sure why as the footage was imported.

You're creating Keyword collections, not Smart collections.
OK, that is odd. I've never seen this not work.
Be sure you only have the top level folder highlighted, nothing else, not a folder below it, not any content.
Now that I think about it, what are the folder names? Especially the top folder? Be sure there are no duplicate names.

My top folders name is Freyhoff Wedding, below is Camera 1A, etc...
I've done one folder in the past. This is my first time with many. I wonder If I delete the main folder and just import the sub folders if that will work?
