Any large scale productions cut on FCP X?

So I have a long running argument at work. I feel that fcpx is great, and stand by it as the platform to use. Others are telling me that NO TV shows or movies are being cut on this and that it's not a professional editing software (I know, a constant debate) can anyone tell me of any TV shows or movies that are being cut on this? All I know about is "George to the Rescue"

Thanks!

Check out FCPX's "IN ACTION" Page for this article on Tsui Hark's Detective Dee

www.apple.com/ca/finalcutpro/in-action/detective-dee/

Leverage was also cut on FCPX.

Wide spread adoption is still coming. FCPX hasn't had it's "Cold Mountain" moment yet. I think the next big update will probably clear the way for broader industry adoption. But just like you say, FCPX's issue is as much a perception one as any specific technical difficulties.

I am one of the editors featured on Apples FCPX in action pages. After editing the three episodes of the third season of Danni Lowinski i used FCPX on 5 feature length Tv-movies for german TV since then. I also edited four more episodes of the fourth season of Danni Lowinski with it. I´ll be using it on the final season of Danni Lowinski this winter.

It is not Cold Mountain, but all of them had regular (very tight) post production schedules and regular post production workflows:

Protools for SoundPost Nucoda, Scratch & Resolve for CC.

So, yes it works in Pro environments!

A colleague of mine just started editing a big feature film for german cinema with it.

Almost two years I work on differents type of projects. Last Year, I edited three episodes of a 10 episodes TV Series with FcpX (the others with Fcp7). This year, the second season is entirely cut on FcpX. I have just begun monday. It will be mix on PT and graded on DaVinci in septembre/october.

I think it's a matter of time before we change all fcp7 seats to fcpX here. We have more and more huges troubles with fcp7 than the minor ones with fcpX...

Hollywood is the big ship that's slow to turn. When FCPX is ready to fight that fight, it will still be years before you'd see widespread adoption. My impression is if you looks at most LA AVID setups, they run several versions back from the current releases. Stability is prized above all else.

Cold Mountain was a big turning point for FCP (classic) after Walter Murch used it to edit the film. It really helped legitimize the Final Cut platform for high end professional work.

I've been cutting almost exclusively in X since December of last year (after switching to FCP v2 from Avid in 2001). I've done a ton of stuff for broadcast- everything from 30 second promos to half hour doc projects. If you've watched PBS this year there's a decent chance you've seen some X created stuff on air. ;)

Very cool. I also watched a film somewhere along the way with him editing and showing off his editing skills along with others. he was editing Cold Mountain at the time. Can't remember what the Doc was.

It's called "The Cutting Edge: The Magic of Movie Editing", it's really great. What I find amusing is that Murch has a wall of thumbnails that he uses for each of his reels, basically exactly what the FCPX event browser thumbnail view does. He should LOVE FCPX!
