How to Mono

I regularly record a redundant sound track on the EX1 (just in case there are problems with the radio mic)
Most of the time I end up throwing the left channel away.
I do it by panning to the right in FCPX audio settings.
But how can I then duplicate that remaining track so that I end up with dual mono (but not mixed mono) (I don't want a combination of left and right channels)
I can export it and then dual mono the audio when I import it again, but that seems just wrong.

If I understand you correctly you should do this in the inspector. Just dual mono the audio there (don't use panning) and just disable the track you don't want to use. No need to duplicate a mono track. A mono track plays out of both speakers.

Thanks. I hadn't realised you could "disable" an audio track in the inspector. That's all it needed before mono-ing
