XML Export with P2 wrapped MXF - Going to Smoke was created by Scott Markowitz
I'm working with a project that has all P2 media.
The original P2 files were imported into FCPX using the original file structure, and FCPX read them just fine.
The resulting clips in FCPX had been named based on the date the original camera recorded the clips.
So FCPX did not initially use the clip names as the clip names in the ECPX event.
I used batch rename to give the clips their original clip names back before editing.
Now, I've got a cut and I want to conform in Smoke 2013.
When I bring the XML into Smoke, it gets no clip name or any other useful metadata to hook onto. It can't find the clips.
I've been careful to make sure Smoke is looking in the exact same directory path that FCPX used for the initial P2 import.
I haven't had much experience with exporting XML from FCPX. Has anyone else seen similar issues?
Is it a peculiar problem with P2 media. Or am I maybe doing something wrong in my procedures.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
