Best format for exporting to a windows computer was created by Petayshadow
I am new to Final Cut Pro x and I am having problems. I need to know the best format for exporting a uncompressed project to play and edit on a windows computer. Also what program would you recommend for converting to that format.

It is very hard to give precise advice based on the very little information you are giving.
Do you want to export a high quality video master to play on a windows system? What do you mean with "uncompressed"?
Export as ProRes 422 and on the Win system download QuickTime and ProRes for Windows: support.apple.com/downloads/Apple_ProRes...oder_1_0_for_Windows
Or export an Uncompressed master file if the Win system is capable of handling truly Uncompressed video. You really need to give more specs.
Or do you want to transfer an entire FCPX project (Event and Project files) to a Windows based NLE?
Moving projects between different NLEs can be very troublesome, even more if you also move to another platform. The golden rule of editing is: start and finish your edit on the same system or you will get into trouble. But if you really need to do this: what is the Win OS? Which hardware? Which Win NLE?
You may be better off trying to solve the problems you are having with your project than trying to move it to another system. I am sure many people here will be glad to assist you.

For simple exports that only have to play back on a Windows computer, MP4 works great, no need for other software.

Sorry for the lack of info. I am wanting to export a project at 1080p and 25fps. Is there any program's for mac osx or codecs for Final Cut Pro x or compressor to export as a uncompressed avi at the above settings. If not do you know what editing program's on windows accept prores 422 codec or have the codec available for downloading.
Thanks

Compressor should do it. You may need to install the free Flip 4 Mac player to get the codec? Someone else may know more, but I do have an .avi option in compressor. If you create a custom setting and use Quicktime Export Components as the file format, AVI should be a choice in the Codecs menu....

Flip4Mac is WMV, not AVI (which is really outdated, eh?).
PPro and MC both read and edit ProRes 422.
