Working with Basic Titles

I got a little nagging question regarding Basic Title editing.
Currently I'm using FCPX to assemble and edit an animated TV show, sometimes the amount of scenes can be in the hundreds. And each scene needs to be numbered for output.
So I drop in Basic Title Opener, then stretch it out so it covers the whole timeline, then I speed cut it up with my trusty contour shuttle pro to match all the scenes.
Next up I have to name each Basic Title to match the scene it's connected with.
I found that by double clicking the Basic Title the result was that it automatically brought up the modify window WITH the content pre-selected.
This was very helpful and I was full of joy. :cheer:
Double click, type number, next scene. Repeat. With this method I was able to name each scene very fast.
Now, as if all of a sudden, the double clicking on the Basic Title brings up the mod window same as before, but now the content is NOT selected.
I found that by double clicking a Basic Title, (text is not pre-selected), then clicking off the Basic Title, then double clicking back on the Basic Title right away the text is now pre-selected.
I don't know what affects the Basic Title to act in two different ways when you double click it.
I'd love to know if anyone else has experienced this. Am I missing some small detail?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I think I've had this happen. There are just weird inconsistencies in the way that FCPX currently acts. I've had this happen when organizing clips in filmstrip view and then trying to add info in the inspector, sometimes it just won't let me do it when the events are on a second display. But I'm not sure about your issue, could be something similar, try changing the layout of FCPX a little, stupid changes like that have helped me with my little bugs.

After doing more work with Basic Text Titles I think I may have found the issue. When I was working on new projects I'd copy past the old Basic Text Title into the new project. This might have been copying the state of the the Basic Text Title.
I did some testing with copy pasting old Basic Text Titles into new projects as well as starting with a fresh Basic Text Title.
So when I copy pasted, that action brought in the current state of the Basic Title. When I made a new one I didn't encounter this particular issue.

There are still some titling bugs in the latest 10.0.8 version. Titles work better, but they can be inconsistent and function odd on certain machines. Usually closing and restarting FCPX restores the titles operation (at least for a little while).
