It's dead. I purchased it about a year ago and the developer and I had a good back and forth about issues.

There's a critical bug fix right now so it doesn't even work. The developer had been promising a fix for months.

Then about 6 months ago all communication stopped.

Go with MovieSlate. I taked with them at NAB and those guys are committed to the product.

Thanks for the reply!

My question finally wasn't about to buy or not to buy.
I got some requests from people who where using it and asked me whether I could do something which makes sense with those files created by QRSlate.

MovieSlate really does look pretty good. I have not seen any files they create, but I think they really know what they do.

Hey guys,

The software isn't dead, but it definitely took an unfortunate hiatus. I work in the industry and had taken time off to develop this software (I personally wanted to use it on my own next project). I started expanding it into FCP-7 and FCP-X so other people could use it as well.

What all of us do in entertainment is very time consuming, and I realized I'd need to bring in additional manpower. So the software isn't dead, and is instead being working on by a new member of the team.

tl;dr - update is coming, I have it on my computer, and a windows version is also in the works.

I won't trust them again.

I've been trying to get on-side logging going with my producer for over a year. We got set up with QRSlate and when it didn't work, it set me back with him and the cameraman on the whole idea.

Only now have I started brining up MovieSlate and will have to fight thru much resistance to do it
