All of my events on my external HD have disappeared. How do I retrieve them?

Today I was waorking on a project in FCPX, and when I went to create a new project FCP said that there was an error while trying to save. I restarted FCPX and when I opened it back up all of my events were empty including the ones I was working on. It's possible that one of the sub video folders in one of the events folders was moved but that should only make a select few clips go off line and not every single project. Is it possible that FCPX encountered a glitch and just trashed all of my work?

Please help if you have any suggestions, I have a deadline that I'm supposed to meet coming up soon and I need to figure this out.

Unhook your hard drive, then attach it back. Restart your FCP X and see what happens

Tell us exactly what you did to move folders around. Also do you have a back up drive, or have copied these Events somewhere else? This usually happens when FCP X encounters duplicate Events and Projects.

So, I'm not sure if a folder got moved or not. It may have been an accidental click that moved the folder. The files were imported directly from the external drive. and is the only drive plugged in.

all of the video clips seem to be gone from the event fold inside the application because FCP shows the blue import logo when I click on any of those event folders.

The projects open with all of my effects and lower third generators but every single clip is offline. When I try to modify the event references FCP say the media for the selected item cannot be found. (eventhough I know the media is on that drive)

when I look at projects from another HD there is an original media folder and that seems to be missing on this drive for every event. I really think the was some sort of error on FCP's end

I think my events folder accidently got moved and FCP replaced it with a new one which is why everything went offline. I'm going to try and replace the new folder with the old one and everything should be back to normal. Thanks
