FCPX 10.0.8 occupying all RAM space. (8GB) was created by tiagofelberg
Good evening.
Firstly, sorry for the bad english. I'm giving my best.
The description is auto explicative. I've been having this problem for a while, tried some forums in my native language but not successfully.
The program runs perfectly for a while and after a few renders the problem starts.
Does anyone know what is going on and what do I have to do to cease it?
another question: is there any previous version that does not have this problem?

Actually, my inactive memory goes to 3,5GB. The process memory stills on ~550MB. I only know that the problem is with the FCPX because when I close it, the problem stops. The inactive memory goes back to ~495 MB.

How much RAM do you have installed?
What percentage of your OS drive's capacity is free space?
Are you reading this information from the pie chart in Activity Monitor? Because that includes your virtual memory, too, not just physical RAM.
What "problems" are you having exactly?

reminds me of my observations, same trouble here ....

maybe, 'purge' is a cure for your problems too!
(at your own risk!!)

This happen with me too, after a few hours working in FCPX. To get my RAM back, i close the FCPX and run the purge at terminal. The performance of FCPX depends too of free space, when i was editing a small video in my OS HDD with 50GB Free, FCPX turn too slow, even using a purge command.
