So I am trying to make a clip from a Sony VG30 into a compound clip to put into a split screen plugin.
Before I can even get to the split screen part...as soon as I click "create compound clip" my video goes black.
Audio stays, but all video goes black. I have tried detaching the audio, but same black result. I know I must be doing something wrong...but what?

Thanks for any help!

well, what _are_ you doing? Is there any Background Process happening after you 'create CC"? Is there going to be more than one clip in this CC? do you really have to create a CC? Are you creating it from the Event Browser or the Timeline?
One has to know what it is you are doing to be able to know what you are doing wrong!

I forget what plugin it is, but it says to make each single clip a compound clip. Then click drop zone and then first frame of clip. But I never get there. The clip from my AC90 goes compound just fine (from the time line) it has no sound if that matters. The sony clip goes black.
Each is single clip.
Attempting from timeline.
Plugin (Pixel film studio) I think, says I have to...
I hope someone knows what I am doing...I sure don't!

Thanks

Has the VG30 clip been optimized to ProRes?

What specific plugin is this? I don't see what compound clips have to do with drop zones. Try it without making it a CC. Or, double click the CC and see what is inside it.

I gave up on Pixel Film's screen splitter, and went with FCPEffects. It works great.
Never did find out what was going on...
