Checkout this job ad for a FCPX editor for Discovery Channel in LA - esp the third para. The edit is for stuff shot on an Arri Alexa, so budget is not the issue by the sounds of things, more that X will cut it well.

Post that on Twitter and see how many nasty responses you get per second.
The tide is turning but it won't stop the drunken sailor talk.

I saw my first advert for a FCP X editor in Berlin Germany where I am based about 4 months ago. Since then nothing. But I have been there done that.
I distinctly remember the FCP Classic adverts here, they came in waves, followed by a wave of FCP Pro no amateurs need apply adverts...
Then pretty much 50/50 FCP/Avid for a couple of years. Recently it has been AVID/Adobe but I have the feeling that Adobe is already tapering off. And am expecting to see Adobe gradually fall away!
And get back to a 50/50 FCP/Avid situation within a matter of years!!!
What do we do with the drunken sailor early in the morning?
Why we put him in the Brig until he is Sober of course

My own guess where things are at the moment.
The higher end jobs are being done because an editor has developed their FCPX chops doing their own work, offered to jump in and do the job using it because they've convinced the producers of the speed and capability of the software and that they're working in with significant personal experience.
These shops are not FCPX shops as of yet. I actually think there are very few of them... but FCPX is walking in the door as per the above scenario.
What then happens is the regular FCPX editor either needs to take some days off or calls in sick and the facility starts looking for a talent pool.
In some cases a producer is convinced after seeing an experienced FCPX editor in action on the aforementioned project and are solidly sold that that's the way to go for the given type of job. They too start to look for freelancers since they know the software can deliver.
FCPX freelance work will begin to pick up as some facilities, after ongoing success, decide it's time to move everything over.
As to PPro... while the CC might be good economically for Adobe, I believe the user base is going to shrink considerably.

Apparently they still have access to Twitter while in the Brig.
Some of them haven't been sober since FCPX was released. They need to go to AA meeting I think (Adobeholics Anonymous/ Avidholics Anonymous)

Well I agree with you about Adobe. I think they have really gone and shot themselves in the foot with respect to their Cloud endeavor. Although Avid drives me mad I like the way that they are going with their Smart folders and this Interplay Sphere thing.
I watched the Avid presentations for MC 7 and one of the things that struck me was when they talked about LUTs they mentioned that the Color Meta Data (presumably other Meta Data) was baked into a “Side Car.”
I would go as far as to say that with respect to FCPX, that the Meta Data is the car and that this will be key to FCP X in the long run...
