Checking group of clips duration

Checking group of clips duration was created by PhilCF
Hi Guys,
I'm a serious Final Cut Pro x newbie and I can't work this out. If I want to check duration, I select the clip and click Control D.
If I want to check the duration of a range of clips, I select them all, but when I click Control D, nothing happens.
What's the solution?
Thanks,
Phil

Control-D is really to change the duration. You can change the duration of clips, but not of a range selection. The duration of a range selection is displayed at the bottom of the timeline.
