Retiming/frames per second.. was created by pattaboy
Hey Guys,
When I make a new project with 1080p/24p setting I have noticed that when importing 50p video it will narrow the frames to 12fps when retiming it to 50%..
I have a few questions about that.
Is the project setting 1080p/24p your end setting when exporting or is it just the setting what kind of video you're working with?
second, When I do work in 1080p/50p project setting if I use 50p video and I slow one down to 50% and the other one leave it at 50fps will the framerate difference be seen when exporting it to a file?
The framerate difference can be seen in the project but it will it show on YouTube or on the video itself?
It's kinda is ugly.
Thanks a lot!

If I understand your question correctly you want to slow down 50p footage in a 24p timeline?
If that is your purpose do not use the common Retiming tool to slow down the video, but do this instead:
Drop your 50p footage into your 24p timeline. Select the clip and choose Conform from the Retiming Menu. You will get beautiful slow motion using every frame of your 50p video.
EDIT: if you want the best looking 50% slow motion conforming 50p video you might be better off working in a 25p project instead of 24p.

Thanks Ronny!!
I thought I was doing something wrong the first time in my project but I just found out my FCP X was not working well and it freaked me out because it was just so obvious..
But with your help I discovered that conform function haha.. I used always command+R > right click 50% but now it's much easier. lol
Thanks
