Hi,
Got a request from my producer today for a mute version of a cut I'd given him (exported out as h.264)...turned out to be much more complicated than I thought..no option to just export video without audio...tried disabling by roles etc. but audio married to video stopped me doing that...in the end had to detach all audio and delete in a new project...not terribly difficult but it was a lot of hoops for a simple task..
Any idea of a quick way?
Thanks,
Johnny

Seanchas,
Select the clip in the timeline, go to inspector/audio, deselect the audio channel at the bottom.

Thanks for that but I find that only works for a single clip.. if I highlight the whole timeline it doesn't work for all the clips...the project I wanted to mute was large....any thoughts??

I created a custom preset to do this in Compressor. If you have Compressor it is fairly easy. You can
download it here
, then put it in:
[User Home Folder] > Library > Application Support > Compressor > Settings
Then you can access it by creating a custom Destination in FCP X.
