I'm a beginner with FCPX, and am using it to make personal GoPro car vids to music with some cool effects. I've had some challenges with converting files for YouTube using compressor. I've figured out most of them but still think compressor (for me) is a bit complicated.
I also am taking other Youtube clips. and inputting them into my projects. Using compressor to convert these Youtube clips to the same format as my project is hit or miss. Sometimes they compress successfully, and sometimes compressor just crashes/fails.

A lot of you guys are using MPEG Streamclip. Is this a better program/system for someone like me and my use. I saw some tutorials on MPEG Streamclip, and it seems a lot more user friendly for a beginner like me.

Thoughts?

I bet you 5 bucks the majority of users in this forum have MPEG Streamclip installed.

It is easy to use and rather fast. Compressor is on a much higher level with many more tools than you would need for your projects. If Compressor gives you trouble, by all means, use Stremclip. ...and it is free to boot.
