How to show the time in FCP? was created by kongen
I want to show the time in my video. The problem is that the time always starts at 00.00.
I want the time in my video to start at 15.45 PM. And maybe starte the timer at 00.00 but 10 minutes in to the film. But the timer always starts in the beginning of the film with 00.00 and when I am 10 minutes in to my movie it will not start with 00.00 but with 10.00. Hope you guys understand my problem and can help me out!
I made a movie that was going to show the time, but the movie was to start when the time was 15.45. So my "solution" was to have a black screen from 00.00 to 15.45. Thats a lot of hours with black screen!
So the editing was slow and a lot more complicated so i just gave it up.

Hi kongen,
This not really possible with the board means of FCPX.
You need Motion.
• Open a copy of the "Timecode" generator in Motion
• In Inspector publish the "Offset" parameter
• Save
• In FCPX place that new one at the start of your timeline and extend it till the end
• In "Inspector" enter the offset you need
• Notice that nothing changes
• Say some of the words which are not allowed here
• Calm down
• Enter a "space" character or any other in the "Label" field in Inspector, update and delete the char
• Everything is updated
• Be happy
If you don't have Motion, let me know. I can publish one.
Maybe our famous Alex reads that and will create one which fixes this things above automatically.

P.S.
I forgot to say: You can set the start tc of your sequence you your desired tc and the standard Timecode generator will work for you as well

I'd just reset the starting TC of the Project, use the built in generator.

These guys have a plug to do it
www.digital-heaven.co.uk/dh_counterx
It also has multiple looks and ... "Count up/down to/from custom time."
However it costs 30 bucks, soooo..... Alex4D is perhaps the way to go?
