New Airport Extreme - Attached External HDD available as drive in FCP over Wi-Fi?

Hi there,

New user here, I've been looking at a NAS solution for FCPX and I've seen the workaround many have done with opening a disk image on a shared device etc...

However, the new airport extreme today released by apple boasts unbelievable speed over Wi-Fi. It also allows an external HDD to be attached to it via USB 2.0.

Am I wrong in thinking that an attached USB Hard Drive will be available as a selectable disk in FCPX? Even though it will be over wifi or ethernet?

Maybe there is an update for FCPX in line with this?

Nope, FCP X won't attach via WiFi. And USB 2.0 is too slow for video editing. Sorry. But there are other solutions, and folks here will chime in soon with what they've used. They're just all nice folks like that!

I have a buffalo NAS arriving tomorrow.

Going to mount a disk on it and go from there.
