BIG PROBLEM WITH RENAMING AND CONSOLIDATING was created by Atamanov
Sorry for my English.
I have a project, big project about 57 min. documentary film. 12 Events, about 1500 files
I need to Consolidate Project.
All source from Canon 5D Mark II and audio from Zoom H4n
12 events, in 1,2,3 and 4 event i forgot to rename audio files. for ex. MONO-1.wav, MONO-2.wav.
event "1" have MONO-1.wav and etc. and events "2","3","4" have also MONO-1.wav
i just forgotten rename them.
Now I have big problem with consolidating project.
FCPX tells me that: :rename files with same names"
HOW???
1. I tried batch rename in FCPX but it's not working because my source files leave not renamed. OK. i see changes just in database of event. OK.
2. I tried rename one file in Finder of event "1" MONO-1.wav to MONO-1_event1.wav and FCPX told me "incompatible file" but i just renamed it not edit!!!!
3. I returned back file name in Finder and tell FCPX Relink, Copy to event was-OFF, becouse file already in folder "original media" AND !!!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! I LOST MY FILE!!!!! it lost. no in Finder, no in Trash.
WHY???
i tried with MONO-2.wav operation 1 and 2 and I see same result "incompatible file".
Then I closed FCPX then returned back file name in Finder then start FCPX and I have linked file MONO-2.wav but MONO-1.wav I cannot rescue.
APPLE PLEASE ANSWER
1. WHY I LOST FILE?
2. WHY "incompatible file"?
3. HOW to consolidate not copy all project if I cannot rename files with same names?
Sent this to apple feedback.
