Key wording/make favorit media/clips on a laptop when media is detached noe extern. disc?

Hey. Is there a possibility in FCPX to select video clips in Events with key words and favorites, without having to have the original files. The backgrounds for this it that thefiles are on an external hard drive, and it would be useful to have taken the laptop and worked somewhere else, then sync the selection when the laptop is connected to the original files again.

Create proxy media. Copy the event with the proxy media to the laptop. Keyword (or edit in a compound clip). Copy the event back to your desktop. Switch to Original (or optimized) media.
