Hi,

I recently upgraded fcpx from 10.0.7 to 10.0.8. AFter this, I inserted 2 footages in a project, marks to DVD's chapter and then I tried to export to a .m4k file. The share operation abort every time with the message "The share operation Master File has failed - QuickTime Error: -50". x

Before the upgrade, I exported this project several times. Workarounds that doesn't work:
1) copy project folder to another name
2) delete project and event render files
3) delete the 2 footage and the DVD's chapter marks

Even though I had deleted all the render files, the share operation always start at 10% and last to 12%, when it abort.

Extra information:
1) The project has about 1 hour
2) Other projects exports successfully

Please, it is an important project, so any help will be appreciated.

Best regards,
Etienne.

Try exporting as a ProRes file first. Then render the file in Compressor.

Dear simon_hutching,

I tried to export as a ProRes, but i aborted with error -1. See the message below

The operation could not be completed because an error occurred when creating frame 14693 (error -1).

Does anybody known how can I identify this frame?

Best Regards,
Etienne.

Hi,

The problem was a cross dissolve transition. Solved.

Thanks,
Etienne.

I have gotten this error quite a bit lately since updating to 10.0.8

In my case it is usually a slow motion clip.

Glad you found it! :)

Dear simon_hutching,

Probably it was not a coincidence. The footage that preceded the cross dissove transition was a slow motion clip. I had to transform it in a compound clip to apply the transition.

Thanks, again.

Either changing the video quality of the slow motion clip or deleting the render files will work too. I usually try the video quality first as I am usually editing a 24 minute show for broadcast... re-rendering the timeline sometimes takes a while depending on the FX used in that episode...

glad to help..

I had this issue too and Simon, your solution of deleting all of the render files and re-rendering fixed it perfectly. It wasn't a slow mo issue, but regardless, I couldn't figure out what was going on. Thanks for taking the time to post!
