Is it possible to maintain a version of 10.0.7 and 10.0.8 on one computer so I can access projects created in the earlier version without going through the hazards of updating them?

BTW -- I'm not talking about compressing one version and stashing it away in a folder. I mean, can I just have two versions of the software housed in separate folders in the application directory.

I'm afraid not. Once the events and projects are updated there is no way to backslush them. You can keep and old backup from the older version, but it won't be updated of course.

That's not really what I had in mind. I have projects that I made in 10.0.7 that I don't want to upgrade because they work. I've started new stuff on a different computer in 10.0.8, but I would like to be able to bring those projects over to my main workstation and being able to run 10.0.7 with my older stuff, and 10.0.8 with the newer stuff.

If you're careful you can do that, run some projects and events in 10.0.7 and some projects and events in 10.0.8. If you ever update the 10.0.7 projects to 10.0.8 you can't go back. Use Event Manager X to make sure only the right projects are available to FCP at any one time. If you open 10.0.8 and it sees 10.0.7 events and projects, it will ask you if you want to update them. If you say no, the projects won't open in 10.0.8 and remain available in 10.0.7. As soon as you say yes, the projects and events are dead to 10.0.7.
