Help! Effects tab not working???

FCPX no longer loads the effects browser, instead it loads only the last browser opened (photos, transitions, etc..) On top of that, it now consistently freezes when trying to restore the window layout. I can only trash the prefs to get it to load again. I have deinstalled and reinstalled the app and it STILL does this! Has anyone else dealt with this?

I had the same problem a few months ago and was able to track it down to a few Audio Units. Specifically ones that were programed using the Juce Framework. The two that were causing trouble for me were: TDRFeedbackCompressorII and Argotlunar. How i tracked them down was to remove all my audio units from the component folder and then start up FCPX, quit FCPX, put some of the AU's back, restart FCPX, quit......and repeat until the problem au were found.

Thank you sir, disabled a few newer plugins and it loaded right up. Seems weird that FCPX doesn't simply ignore plugins that don't pass validation (like Logic does), would certainly alleviate some major headaches..

Yes it is a touch odd that FCPX doesn't have the ability to work like Logic.......maybe it's just not high on the development list. You may want to send feedback to the FCPX folks so that they know of the issue from at least two people....then at least it will be on their radar.
