Question Re: Copying Event was created by screendor
Folks:
I've got an event that contains new original media and also links files in other events (in point a fact, a 3 yr old FCP 7 folder).
Wanted to duplicate the new X event to a backup RAID. However, when I duplicated, the older linked files are duplicating only as links, not the actual media files--so not the option I was looking file.
Any thoughts here to create a backup event that contains ALL MEDIA used in the event? My guess is that I need to duplicate the project and use the controls there as there doesn't seem to be a way to tweak the "duplicate event" setting to get the result I need.
Thanks for any help.

Either before you duplicate the event, or immediately afterwards, while you still have access to the original, run the Organize Event Files function.

Use the 'Organise Event Files' to create actual copies of the media files in the event,
not just the links.
not just the links.
