Hi folks,
I have been searching the net for an answer, but came out short so I will try here..

The rendering of the title "far far away" is taking ages. Has anyone experienced the same or is it something wrong with my setup/mac??

my system is

with Software OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)

8 GB RAM would help, but the GPU is what is really doing the heavy lifting for that title.

So, what exactly do you mean by "ages"?
And how much text is in that title clip, what is the duration of it?

Well by ages I mean 24 hours ++

It is about 400 words divided between 3 titles together about 2 min.

2 solid minutes, 400 words, that's some heavy titling. That could actually be some pretty fast reading for that specific title. But 24 hours, that's odd. I'm testing it now, and it is not taking that long to "render". I'd be sure I wasn't doing this off the system drive.

Did you add a drop shadow to it? If so don't use the one under the text tab. Add the new one from the Stylize menu. I have found that it takes about 4X longer to render large amounts of text in a title clip with the drop shadow on. Also, that is a lot of text. When I edit a car spot with an extensive disclaimer with the text size set to 22-30 it takes a while to render/export. This is on an i7 iMac with 1GB GPU.

The reason for the size is because I wanted to use an alternative way of displaying facts.

Than you for the help guys, I will try turning of the drop shadow.
