"Final Cut Corrupted Events", which has all of the original media and render files as well as an event backup
"Final Cut Corrupted Projects", which has a bunch of render files and a .fcpproject backup file, which I cannot open.
One of the events that was corrupted still appears in my event library, and when I click on it, FCP crashes. I am also unable to create a new project, with FCP saying that action is not allowed.
Happy to provide any additional info. Here is my setup:
2011 Mac Mini
2.7 GHZ Intel Core i7
8 GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB
OS X 10.8.3
G-Technology 6TB External Firewire HDD

Can you please clarify - do you to say all of your projects and events became corrupted at once and that and they have been moved to this new "Final Cut Corrupted Events" folder? Any chance of a screenshot of how all this looks in your finder?

I would give Apple a call regarding this since we might be in the dark about this. They will help you out.

What if you try hiding your events and project folders. You can put an X in from of the temporary. See if FCP lets you create a new project/event.
"Final Cut Corrupted Events"
Is there a "Backups" folder inside of there? FCP makes a backup of the event/project DB every 15 minutes.
Or is there an "Old Versions" folder. This is where previous versions (of FCPX that is) database are made incase a new version of FCP X corrupts the DB.
Can you tell us more about the events/projects that were put in the corrupted folders? How many events were in there? How long have you been working on the events/projects? What versions of FCP have been used for these events/projects?
What version of FCP X are you on now?

You should still have backups in the original Project and Event folders. Copy the backup (select, Command-D, in the Finder) and rename it CurrentVersion.fcpevent or CurrentVersion.fcpproject as appropriate. Then place into the corresponding Project or Event folder.
Thanks to a fellow trainer who gave me this info, BTW. I knew about the backups, but not the recovery process.

BenB wrote: FCPX makes a backup of every project/event every time it saves. On launch it checks for file integrity on all mounted Projects or Events. Any corrupted ones get moved into corrupted folders, and the backup version is automatically loaded. Corruption generally happens only when there's a system freeze or power interruption at the moment of an autosave and even then it's exceedingly rare.

The backups are in the "Corrupted" Event and Project folders, not the original. The original folders are both empty.

"Final Cut Corrupted Events"

Yes, there is a Backups folder which contains a .fcpevent file. Don't know what to do with it, though.

Nope.

I have two events and two projects. I had spent about a month on one and a couple of weeks on the other. For both projects I believe I was using the current version of FCPX, 10.0.8

The folders actually read "Corrupted - Final Cut Events" and "Corrupted - Final Cut Projects". Because of that I believe this is the OS issue, or specifically a HD issue. He is running Disk Utility repair and creating a backup before proceeding.
Anyone have any experience with folders marked corrupted?

In that case I never saw a "Corrupted - Final Cut Events"
Yes, there is a Backups folder which contains a .fcpevent file. Don't know what to do with it, though.
If you haven't already tried to use this backup file:
Go into the Project Backups folder. Copy the newest file in there. Move it one level up. Rename the CurrentVersion.fcpproject to Corrupt_CurrentVersion.fcpproject then rename the backup to CurrentVersion.fcpproject. Then relaunch FCPX.
Good luck.

After a very productive phone session with tpayton, We reached the conclusion that my external drive was to blame. I was able to recover my projects/events and am back in business!

I just moved and event to a HDD and lost the event. It created a folder called "Corrupted Final Curt Events"
I was not able to launch that event file either.
Thanks

Regarding this "Corrupted Final Cut Events" we were never able to determine if that was happening on the OS level or if Final Cut was doing that. I am guessing it is the OS marking something on a hard drive with problems. Can you post a screen shot?
When you say you you moved it and "lost" it can you elaborate. Did you move in the finder or inside FCP?
