Hi,

I have just finished editing a movie in Final Cut Pro X on my Mac with OSX Version 10.6.8.

I need to add navigation/chapters so that the user can go straight to a particular part of the DVD. And then, of course, burn to DVD.

I was going to get Toast 11 Titanium but read some bad reviews on Amazon and elsewhere.

I went to this link:
mac-movie-dvd-burning-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

Toast scored well there but it's hard to trust just one review.

I need something reliable that I can burn to dvd and add navigation/chapters and import own artwork for the title page.

Any suggestions from experienced users? Is Toast 11 Titanium as bad as the reviews lead me to believe? Have those problems been addressed by now?

Thanks & Regards,
Paul Zab

I have heard decent reports of Toasts' capabilities and at one point, an Apple tech support guy suggested that to me. I still use DVD Studio Pro on a networked G5 that I can send my encodes to, so I don't have direct experience with Toast.

I'd recommend DVD Studio Pro or Encore if you can't get your hands on the old DVD Studio Pro.

Toast is fine for burning DVD's you will share with family and friends as you can include Menu's but you cannot customize the menu beyond changing color of buttons, links, etc (there are several preset menu templates you can use though).

Hope that helps, have a good weekend!

Hi and thank you to both of you for your help. I was hoping there might be a few more options in Mac land. Obviously Apple and others want us to believe DVD's and other physical media are 'old' technology.

Cheers,

Hello

You might want to try this little (rather deep) DVD app....version 1 is now free

There's actually a number of DVD burning programs in the Mac AppStore. Most seem to have mediocre reviews though.
