Anyone know of a plugin that can create a baseball scoreboard overlay in fcpx? Would be willing to hire someone to create this for us too. Thanks!

I'm going to take this opportunity and do something I've been wanting to do for a while. I am going to make a basic scoreboard in Motion and post it up, just to get you something to work with. Then I want to see if this community responds and maybe adds to it or makes it better. I would really like FCP.co break off a section of this site just for motion templates and other stuff that its users create.
I'll try and have something by the end of the day...as I am working....

I knew it existed, but I haven't checked it in a long time and it has definitely grown. I was looking more for something similar to the way pond5 has it set up, not as awesome but something similar. So it could be easy to find stuff. And maybe have some collaboration between projects

I converted your Scoreboard to an actual FCP X generator. I'd recommend making the team name sections on each end of the tube graphic much wider to accommodate actual team names. But it looks really nice.

If you've got any kind of a budget, why not use this plugin from SugarFX, it looks exactly like the kind you see on ESPN or any major sports network.
It will make your project look like a million bucks & it's totally customizable ...

The SugarFX plug includes lower thirds, but I think he wants the whole package. I mean check out how pro that setup looks.

looks good and is some like what i'm looking for. does anyone know of a way of making club badges wrap around that would look like something in the attachemnt? Also does anyone know of a way on incorporating a timer into a score board. I've got one where i downloaded a timer from youtube and set a drop zone, for it, but would like to be able to stop it when the game clock stops.

that 'Real Time'-thingie is on the Top5 list of "Motion needs new features" ...
… at last for us wannabe-'sports reports'-makers.... :silly:
There is a solution, but incredible complicated, utilizing compounds/MultiCam.
If you can follow my steps, here's my workaround:
www.fcp.co/forum/4-final-cut-pro-x-fcpx/...e-tc-not-projects-tc
Creating your own scoreboard is a matter of "How Much Tme are you willing to spend learning Motion?"....
Being on a showstring budget ... having no budget at all, to be serious, I made me my own package of Titles and Generators, for example:
(score, team colors, names, 'station bug', league icon etc etc etc ...
incl. a watch showing actual game-time, not project time.
incl. my own transitions, using the clubs logo.
incl. some 'fun stuff', as shown in attached example 'list', scrubbing with a marker over the scores.
incl. my 'masterpiece', a team-list-generator, with lots of bling-bling eye-candy...
Which leads to the final point:
A professionally done design, aside offering all kind of features, for sure looks 'better' … ! Just wrestling down Motion with all its bells&whistles, doesn't guarantee a good 'look'... :silly:
I'm just mimiking TV-designs/game consoles ... for a hobby project a legit procedure, I assume.
But it doesn't replace the skills and taste of a real Designer.....
What comes to mind:
cheap, fast, good - pick two ....
