How do I organize this?

How do I organize this? was created by alven
I am trying to plan out how to organize my events and projects for this job I have been given.
I am working on a lap top that is filled up quite easily, so I have to keep in mind that I might have to move my files to an external hard drive underway. And I am trying not to have trouble with projects and events all over the place.
From the footage I will make several films with different interviews. So I was thinking of making separate projects for each interview. And I am struggling to decide if I should make 1 event or 1 for each project I make.
The videos will be in a series, and I want to make a mutual vignette for all of them, probably a compound clip that has to be located somewhere, and I hope this wont be lost underway. If I do decide to move something..
Could someone tell me what my best option would be so I don't end up in trouble? Is it best to make One big event or one for each project?

I advise you not to make separate events and projects for one job. Metadata is really one of the strong points of organization for FCP X so you're better off using keywords and smart collections. It's really up to you how you use keywords, but I would make keyword collections for each interview, and then if you needed more keywords for each interview, you could use folders to organize them further. This would be all in one event, and if you wanted separate projects referencing this event, that would be fine.
As far as your vignette, there are several ways to accomplish this easily. If you're using a simple vignette that displays for your entire interview, just use an effect and copy that effect over to your other interviews. You could even create your own custom vignette in Motion and use that, but that goes a little beyond what I'm able to type right now.
You could use a compound clip for this, but you have to remember to either duplicate your compound beforehand or Clip > "Reference New Parent Clip" so that your original compound clip isn't modified.

Thank you, I will take your advice on making one event, and I probably will make different projects. Thanks for the tips!
