Deleting Oringal Footage?

I just wanted to double check. If I've optimized all of my footage to Pro Res 422 and editing using those files, I can safely delete the oringal AVCHD files imported without running into problems should I need to re-edit the project down the road?

I just did that and it worked fine. But do this first to check. In the Browser, right click a clip, and chose "Reveal In Finder". Does it point to the original or optimized file?

If it points to the original, move the "Transcoded Media" folder out of the Events folder. Re-launch FCP X. If necessary, re-link them to the Transcoded Media > High Quality Media versions. You should be good to go. Once that works fine, delete the original files.

Be sure you are backing up that drive daily, though.
