I dunno guys and gals. It seems that more times than I wish there are some types of problems in my projects. Seems they ultimately get corrupted somehow and I'm having to figure some work around to get them exported properly. the latest was in the case of the last two days. Trying to get a 5 minute wedding highlight to export. Plenty of MB and M Looks and color correction, effects, etc. tried to export .264 for computer for the smaller size to upload to Dropbox for client. It just would not export.. Was working VERY slowly up to 13% then would give me error code. So the workaround was to export full res video and audio. Then import that file into a separate event/project and export to computer that way. A lot of time wasted.
I LOVE FCPX and the way it has opened up my creativity and the I love the organization it has especially coupled with Event Manager X....but geez... Tired of all of these lil problems. I hate to say that I'm thinking of doing the next one with PremPro.
Anywho...just a lil rant.

Did you try deleting the render files before exporting?

It could be a corrupted render file. Used to happen in legacy FCP a lot.

Thanks Ben...Yeah I deleted the render files several times. I also deleted preferences with pref manager. It's sic a downer. As I said I love FCPX but man It seems I keep having at least one problem that gets me hung up for a day or two with almost every project.
Otherwise I had also duplicated the project and used event clips to my other FW 800 drive from there it did whatever I wanted. Now it has me wondering if it is hardware related with the Lacie FW 800 drive that is my current project drive. I'm gonna move everything off of it and format it. See what happens. I was thinking a few weeks ago I need to kind of retire it. It has been my workhorse for a few years now.
@CTCBAS.... It has been brought up in the forums a few times that...Yes. It may be better to delete all project render files or not to have automatic rendering on at all to export a project. I personally like to see what my effects and such are doing so IF I have to render I do. Otherwise background rendering is off for me and I do delete whatever project render files I have as well. At least i find it exports faster when I do this.

Run Disk Warrior on that drive, AND your system drive, and make sure all your drives have at least 10-15% of their total capacity as free space.

On occasion I have found that duplicating the project WITHOUT the render files and allowing the process to create a new event with used clips only has solved certain problems that existed with the original project.
But, as with all releases of FCPX, many issues corrected in 10.0.8, but definitely some new bugs came along.
