HELP! relinking media in FCPX was created by simon_hutchings
So I am editing a series that airs on FOX sports in Florida and on TSN in Canada and I am trying to re-import my final mixes and stems from our audio dept. so here are the events in order as they happened.
1. I imported the final mixes and stems the first time (copying files to FCPX event folder)
2. place them on the project timeline and spotted some areas that needed altering
3. I removed the mix-downs from the timeline then deleted them from the event library
4. once the corrections were made I imported the new files back in to FCPX
5. after the import competes the files are not in the event library browser
6. look in the event library folder in finder to see the files there (but not in FCPX)
7. delete files in finder
8. FCPX now says the tiles that were not shown are missing - re-import
9. now I am back to not having files in event library (but it indicates missing media) in FCPX but have them in finder.
I can work around this and create a second event library titles "final mixes 2" and import them and all is good. I know its not a file issue and it must be a database issue but how can I remove media from the FCPX event library/database that is not displayed in the event library.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

First, when you were looking in the Event Browser, did you verify that the filter menu (top left) was set to All Clips, and that the search field (top right) was totally cleared?

Thats what it was... Hide Rejected was selected.
Is that why when I would re-import the files they would not appear?
I am somewhat new to FCPX... I have been using it for around 6 months... still trying to learn the little quirky things. I like and much prefer X over 7 but still learning the little things.

I am pretty sure FCPX defaults to HIDE REJECTED, which might make sense in some cases, but I would prefer it begins with ALL CLIPS.
