URGENT HELP NEEDED :( was created by malia664
i've shot and now have finished editing a video for my friends record label. i shot it on a Canon xf100 and found many troubles with the mxf files and getting them to upload into fcp.
first issue: mxf files wouldnt import into fcpx
edited computer system to think it was 10.7.2 so we could but none of the files properly uploaded they still had a camera hovering over the top of it
when we tried to export it all of the options were grey
i created a 'camera archive' of the folder with the mxf files
edited the system back to 10.6.8 and started to upload them from this camera archive
BUT as these are in a new event listing, they will no longer link to the project, so it still wont export.
is there any way to link the current edit of the video to a new events folder with the same footage and same names of footage?
PLEASE HELP ASAP I WOULD BE VERY VERY GRATEFUL TO YOU

Use the reimport from camera archive function.

I tried to do this but because the images were linked to my camera it would only let me use the reimport option when the camera was plugged in, however when i did click reimport it automatically has started doing it from the camera again which leaves me in the same position as I started.
Is there any way to replace the footage with the footage from the archive?

I don't understand this message. If you have a camera archive then you don't need the camera plugged in. Don't plug in the camera. Reimport from the archive.
"i created a 'camera archive' of the folder with the mxf files"
Maybe I'm not understanding this. Is this a folder with just the .mxf files? I hope not.
