NAB Update

Any rumblings of the supposed NAB timed update?

I'd like to know as well. cseeman wrote on the SliceX thread:

Maybe Apple should have spent their "press briefing" highlighting what third party developers were doing....

This makes me think think that Apple had a press briefing and nothing substantial was announced, or they simply didn't have a press briefing. I'd like to know for sure.

There was a press briefing. Nothing substantial from what I understand. No Roadmap. Nothing coming demoed.

Shame, thought they were going to pull something cool out of the bag.

I will say this much. Road map was detailed, they are very serious about FCPX, working with impressive third party developers. Tim Cook's promise of a Mac Pro replacement is solid, and will deliver later this year. May not be traditional Mac Pro, but will be geared for the pro market. 3-4 month incremental updates to continue as standard procedure, no big single major update. A paid update will eventually happen but only when it is warranted. BTW, Young Detective Dee move was SWITCHED from FCP 7 to FCPX mid production. Impressive. Tons more to come, for a very long time, and user input via feedback page is vital. So fill it out! I will add this, fact is Apple doesn't comment on unreleased stuff, get used to it.
