ANY and ALL help is very appreciated.
IN ADDITION... Does anyone know of a free compressor? VS the $50 one apple sells?

Start there. If have specific questions, come back. There are a few books and good online training, including my own I must add, from Class on Demand

Here are the steps I have taken (I have tried 100 things, so this is the one that seems the most logical to me)...
1. Go to the export key (looks like an arrow)
2. choose location (DVD)
3. Hit Next
4. Hit save......
NOTHING happens.. I have done this over and over again adn I have no idea what step i am missing. I can't upload this to vimeo, fb or anything else, I have to have it in a dvd format.
Any suggestion?

This is the key paragraph:
"Another significant enhancement is that exporting or sharing no longer takes control of your application. The export process is a background process, and you can monitor the progress in the Dashboard or the Background Task window (Cmd-9). You can continue to edit while this is going on."
There's a graphic that shows the background task window.

MMedge wrote: I just got the trial version of FCP 10.08 and I am so frustrated. There are no tutorials (that I can find) on how to export a movie using this new format. I called Apple and they won't help me because it is the trial version. I have tried applying older versions "how to" to this one, and NO success. I am ready to run over my computer with my car. I have been trying to figure this out for days.

Hi. I think I can help. The trick here is to make sure the car is on an even, flat surface. I would suggest a parking lot or perhaps a driveway (if it's not too steep). Place the computer on the ground behind the left rear wheel of the car, about 4 feet from the wheel. Make sure the car is in neutral and the parking brake is engaged when positioning the computer. Now enter the car and ensure the steering wheel is positioned so that the front wheels are pointing directly ahead. Now, carefully disengage the parking brake and place the car into reverse. Apply light pressure on the accelerator and allow the car to move slowly backwards until you can feel the rear tire crush the computer. It helps if you can have a friend monitor your progress and call out any required course corrections to you.

Then, I went through the exact same steps to try it again and now it is only producing IMG files. I can't even get a video file to appear now.
Thank you for the how to run over my computer. Your advice was very technical. I had a much more violent and dramatic scene in my head going.... one that involved me driving at high speeds and then slamming on the breaks to skid with it tucked neatly into the tread on my tires.
Anyone have any suggestions what may be up with the IMG file thing? Or why no audio? Or how to compress the file size with out buying a separate compressor? Or, the logic of why Apple made satanic software?
