As a test I uploaded a HD 720p.mov to facebook to test that it would upload/open ok but when viewed on Facebook the quality looked terrible (looked fine when viewed in quicktime on my computer+. What is the optimum quality that should be used when uploading to facebook ?
Or should I upload to vimeo then link to facebook for best quality ?
Thanks
Neil

Export from FCP X as H.264, full resolution. Upload that.
Is your original FCP X project and footage 720p?

Make sure you have HD turned on on Facebook. It makes a hell of a difference!

Yes that improves the 720version, thanks
If I switch the HD setting on facebook does that mean everybody who views the film automatically views it in HD ? . This is what I want to happen.
thanks

No, the viewer has to switch on HD. Based on the speed of their internet connection, they may or may not be able to efficiently view HD, hence the default to SD. YOUTUBE will auto sense the connection capability and offer up a default resolution that the viewer can successfully handle.
