Why can´t backup disk load events?

After importing clips from my camera to my external hard drive, I copied the events using "duplicate" from the "file" menu.

Now, when I try to load the project file with the backup disk, I get "missing event" in every clip.
I have the event. They are right there. I can see them in the preview. But in the timeline I get "missing" event.

Why?

My project files are saved on my internal hard drive, not on my disk I load my events.

Look in the project properties and see what event the clips are linked to. If you duplicate an event the links to projects do not go with it. If you want to have the links to events go with the duplicate, you have to duplicate the project.

I have this Bombich approved article about using CCC to do backups that allow you to work right off the backup drive like nothing ever happened.

Another article about things to watch for before moving Events and Projects around. It shows how to be sure things will copy over in tact and you won't miss anything once moved.

Ahh, yes. I had to link it to the correct disk.

Thank you!

I will definitely read those two. Learning a lot!
Thank you, Ben!
